Communicating greatness into someone else's life is the greatest gift you can ever offer your partner. There are times though when their obvious greatness is obliterated by an all too accurate memory. You see, no matter how great the love of your life may be, he or she is human and with being human, they have screwed up. The emotion of the action has past and the big blow up fight you had over the misdeed has quietened but you still are hanging on to the memory.

The memory of hurts we have suffered in the past simply do not serve us into the future. Years ago they used to offer coin operated TV's in train and bus stations. For 25 cents you could see 15 minutes of a show. But for free you could quickly preview what was on to see if you wanted to bother paying for the show.

Our brief remembrances of past wrongs are like those little plastic TVs. You can have a momentary thought about something your partner has done wrong. It costs you little as long as the memory remains little. But if you choose to linger and fully replay the event, well that is going to cost you. It will cost you dearly.

I counsel people all the time who are emotionally bankrupt due to constantly replaying past hurts. The replay is turning those hurts into harms. You are permanently damaging yourself and with that you are damaging your relationship. It is time to let it go. For the betterment of your own soul and spirit, forgive them today.
