| Getting Out of Your Comfort Zone | ||
|
A successful networker understands both the importance of books and people. Your business will not grow without gaining new knowledge and having new members enrolling.
One of the common mistakes in this industry is we sometimes underestimate the true power of personal growth one need to gain to be successful. Some reasons - we may not be as open minded to see the potential or because we may not take our business seriously. I am guilty of both of these principles and continue to challenge myself to overcome them instead of making an excuse. It is wonderful to watch people on my team and my coaching clients go through this self realization process. Magic occurs in themselves and their business when I take them through this process.
Enrolling new members and developing leaders to duplicate these activities is one the best and most efficient way to leverage your time. Of course, before this can happen we need to connect with potential partners and bring them to an overview of your company.
This means you have to set appointments by talking to people. My preference and the most efficient method for my lifestyle is to work leads or the cold market. This process is connecting with people over the phone who requested information about starting a home base business. To most this usually means getting out of ones "comfort zone” and doing things that may be uncomfortable for them at first. I teach how to overcome this awkward stage in my telecourse – The Power of Leads.
The one thing I know for sure, being successful with something worthwhile in this business or in life often requires us to do things that are uncomfortable at first. Through our mistakes is how we experience and grow to become leaders and successful. I do teach short cuts in my class, but the reality is if you want success you will need to overcome these fears and challenge your comfort zone. Of course it will be awkward at first. You will experience some rejection and some disappointments, which will give you valuable experience you can learn from and teach others. As you keep progressing, you will find that your comfort level increases and your appointment setting becomes easier, and no doubt will experience success.
Calling leads and building your business is extremely duplicable and really simple, if you have the right attitude.
One of the most valuable lessons that I can share is when prospecting is learning the skill to really listen. I mean actively listen to your prospective customer/business partner and search to find out their goals, and needs. If you know what they need, you have a greater chance of enrolling them and assisting them to start a new business.
When I connect over the phone with a new lead I listen to their subtle cues about what they need or want. I actively listen for their "hot buttons”. When I hear the prospect wanting to help their families, buying a new home, car, or a vacation, I listen and then assist them to see how and why they can achieve their goals with my business. I laser focus on their goal or need and not my own of an enrollment.
I teach this and several other techniques in my telecourse, hope to see you in class!
